MINNETONKA, Minn., January 25, 2012 –/WORLD-WIRE/– Stonyfield Farm and other major international corporations will present how they have successfully incorporated NatureWorks’ Ingeo™ bio-based materials into their products at the collaborative, biennial biopolymers forum, Innovation Takes Root (ITR) 2012, in February.
The conference will include unique presentations and exhibitions for companies now actively pursuing Ingeo fibers and plastics applications and those desiring to learn more about this important and growing class of biopolymers. Company representatives will also discuss how they envision sustainable practices to change business in the future.
“This is the only event of its kind to specifically focus on one class of biopolymers,” said Marc Verbruggen, president and CEO, NatureWorks. “This intense focus – from material development and characteristics through the supply chain to brand successes – delivers information on the state of the art, both from the standpoint of the Ingeo biopolymer itself, and its impact on sustainability and product differentiation throughout the channel to market.”
The conference will include presentations such topics as: Advances in Ingeo Packaging Films; Ingeo in Fibers and Non-Wovens; Expanding Ingeo Applications in Durable Products; Growth of Ingeo Lactides and Lactide Derivatives; Driving Economics to Sustainable Commercialization; Opportunities in Food Service and Food Packaging; and Cradle-to-cradle strategies.
The conference will take place February 20-22 at the Omni Orlando Resort, Orlando, Fla. Visit the ITR website for program and registration. Follow NatureWorks on Twitter (@natureworksllc) for the latest updates.
