McCarthy has been a keynote speaker for the past three years at EUEC, which brings together regulators and electric utility executives in an annual forum.
PHOENIX, AZ, March 14, 2013 –-/WORLD-WIRE/– EUEC, the largest energy, utility and environment conference held annually in the U.S., congratulates Gina McCarthy on her nomination by President Obama as the next administrator of the EPA.
In her role as Assistant Administrator for the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation, McCarthy has been an important part of EUEC as a keynote speaker at each of the last three annual conferences, which bring together policymakers, energy executives, environmental business leaders, and NGOs to collaborate on the various issues facing energy development and use, the future of electric power, and environment considerations.
“Gina McCarthy is known for her ability to focus on the science of clean air issues. From our perspective, she has also maintained a balance of reaching out to stakeholders that is both productive and respected. Her nomination is well earned,” said Dr. Prahbu Dayal, EUEC Chairman. “We’re proud that she has addressed our EUEC audience for the past three years and we would be thrilled to welcome her back to EUEC in the future.”
In addition to a who’s who in energy and environment in the plenary session, EUEC offers one of the best technical programs in the industry, where 600 speakers make expert presentations in three days in 10 different subject areas: air quality regulations; air quality monitoring; control equipment; energy and climate policy; renewable energy and electric vehicles; carbon markets and carbon capture and storage; corporate greenhouse gas strategies; biofuels, biomass, and biogas; sustainability and reliability; and energy efficiency and management.
The next EUEC 2014 will be the 17th annual conference, to be held February 25-27, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. At EUEC, 2,000 delegates including environmental business leaders, energy executives, NGOs and government policymakers converge to collaborate on the various issues facing energy development and use, the future of electric power, and environment considerations.
