Risks & Opportunities of Climate and Environmental Change Explored by Leading International Experts & Executives in New DVD/Web Program for Businesses.

Serious Nature STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, October 2, 2009 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- Beyond The Line is a DVD and web program that illustrates why and how businesses everywhere are turning the risks of climate & environmental change into compelling business opportunities.

The film, produced by Serious Nature, explores how to move beyond the line of business-as-usual and become a winner in the face of the fundamental changes that are already affecting businesses around the world. It shows that there is an undeniable business case for proactive environmental strategies.

Beyond the Line has been designed for use in seminars & workshops for organizations that want to become successful players in the transition to the low carbon/low ecological footprint economy. The film & workshops consist of four sections, which can be viewed separately or as a compilation: The Science of Climate Change and Ecosystem Degradation, Risks & Opportunities, Business Success Stories, and Critical Success Factors.

Companies moving beyond the line, and featured in the film, include General Electric, Marks & Spencer, Ikea, and Marriott International as well as SME's like Ecoigo, Green Clean and Terracycle. "We at Serious Nature want to show business managers best case examples of companies that have grown and benefited from proactively implementing sustainable practices," said Martin Schmidt, co-founder.

The film also features interviews with experts from Carbon Disclosure Project, Environmental Defense Fund, Forum for the Future, World Resources Institute and other organizations that have successfully partnered with companies to help them reduce their environmental impacts and increase their business performance.

Paul Dickinson, Chief Executive, Carbon Disclosure Project, says in his interview "Climate change is like the Internet for business - it arrives one day, it gets bigger every year, it never goes away, and you have to learn to make money from it, or you're going to get eaten for lunch."

Mike Barry, Head of Corporate Responsibility, Marks & Spencer, London said "The endpoint in 20 - 30 years time is a truly sustainable business - low carbon, zero waste, closed loop, helping every person that we touch live a better life."

Beyond the Line is now available at www.beyond-the-line.org - $19.95 for online access (download and streaming), or $39.95 for online access plus the DVD. Corporate pricing is available upon request. All proceeds will be reinvested into online distribution and enhancements to the Beyond The Line project.
