Organization Helps Communities Achieve a Sustainable Future
SAN DIEGO, CA, October 7, 2009, --/WORLD-WIRE/-- United GREEN, a non-profit community resource is proud to announce its partnership with GreenEnergyTalk.org. The organization will moderate a forum that will guide community representatives and individuals through the prolific offering of government grants for sustainable initiatives. Mark Hanson, Ph.D., who offers a vast body of experience and knowledge in the field of government grants, will moderate GreenEnergyTalk.org, the new open discussion forum.
United GREEN, a division of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Heartland Coalition, helps individuals and communities achieve a sustainable future by promoting clean energy and environmental protection. United GREEN is an acronym for GrassRoots Environment and Energy Network. The mission of the group is to speed the transition to a sustainable future for everyone. The organization maintains that by sparking collaborations between key public and private entities, it can nurture a shared leadership and deliver solutions to the sustainability challenges ahead. United GREEN supports a two-fold mission. Primarily the group is focused on facilitating a grassroots movement that engages and unites communities in a shared fight for a truly sustainable future. To support that initiative the group fosters projects and initiatives that generate a green economy and accelerate the establishment of green enterprises employing a green-collar workforce. United GREEN is also producing "The Green Economy: Forging a Sustainable Future," in conjunction with San Diego State University, an Enviro-Business society. The event will be filmed and used as a cornerstone to build on for future events presenting "real solutions for a sustainable future." "Forging a Sustainable future" will feature expert presentations and panel discussions by members of academia and business, as well as public officials, including an invitation to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to be the keynote speaker. Discussions will cover a wide range of green solutions to sustainable economic, business, and career issues. The day will include: a presentation and critique of "A Green Economic Stimulus Plan for San Diego," The Latest Thinking in Green Economics, Green Business Models and Practices, Green Career Trends and Job Opportunities as well as seminars on Green Jobs for All including a Bike Sharing Plan and The Green Economy and Urban Development.
