Carter Conlon was born in 1953 and is a Canadian-born American pastor and author. He is mainly known for being the outgoing senior pastor of Times Square Church in New York.

Carter Conlon Early life

Carter was born and raised in Noranda, Quebec. He graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. This is where he received a bachelor’s degree in law and sociology.

In 1987 he left his 12-year career as a police officer to enter full-time ministry. He then found a church, a Christian school, and a food bank in Riceville, Canada.

He also owned and operated a sheep farm. When he decided to enter full-time ministry, he traveled throughout the country to speak at various churches from Prince Edward Island to Alberta to the Inuit people in the Arctic.

He joined the pastel staff of Times Square Church in 1994 at the invitation of the founding pastor, David Wilkerson. He was appointed to the office of senior pastor in 2001. Carter announced in February 2020 that he would be stepping down as senior pastor of Times Square Church. In order to focus on his radio ministry, speaking, and writing books.

He and his wife, Teresa, have three children and eight grandchildren.

Conlon’s “World Wide Prayer Meeting”

Conlon launched the World Wide Prayer Meeting at Times Square Church in New York City in 2015. Every Tuesday night, thousands of Christians would gather to pray either in person or by participating through live streaming. The World Wide Prayer meeting has since received over 200,000 prayer requests and witnessed uncountable answers to prayer.

Conlon’s “ChildCry”

Colon traveled with a team of more than 200 people from Times Square Church to Zambia to hold evangelistic and humanitarian outreaches. After witnessing the plight of the children living on the streets there, he began to pray about ways to help. This led to the establishment of ChildCry in 2005. ChildCry currently provides more than 4000 meals a day for children in over 22 countries. Although, I must say that “ChildCry” seems like a weird name for a nonprofit organization.
