The son of actress Lisa Marie Presley and the look-alike grandson of Elvis Presley, Benjamin Keough died at the age of 27 on July 12, 2020, in Calabasas, California. As per the reports of TMZ, the cause of death is a self-inflicted gunshot wound by Keough. He was born in 1992 and was the only grandson of late singer Elvis Persley
The representative of Lisa Marie Presley, Roger Widynowski confirmed the death in a statement given to USA Today by saying that Lisa is inconsolable and completely heartbroken on the demise of her son whom she considered her life, however, she is trying to stay strong for her children including 11-year-old twins and eldest daughter Riley.
Benjamin Keough Dead?
Talking about the family, Keough’s father Danny Keough is a musician with whom Lisa has divorced in 1994. His elder sister Riley is an actress and known for her performance in Mad Max: Fury Road and American Honey. He is a half-brother to 11-year-old twin sisters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, whose father is Lisa’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
Lisa Marie featured Benjamin and his siblings in a music video in 2012 remaking Elvis’ 1954 hit song "I Love You Because." Keough’s resemblance with Elvis can be seen in a picture tweeted by Lisa in 2019 on which many people commented that he resembles his legendary grandfather.
In an interview in 2013, on being asked if Benjamin will pursue his career in Music, Lisa had said that he is doing his own stuff and she has left this decision with him that when and what he wants to do in his life.
Nancy Sinatra who has worked with Elvis Persley in the 1968 film Speedway, offered her condolence to Benjamin via Twitter where she wrote that she had known him from the time prior to his birth and felt sorry that she wasn’t aware that Keough had so much pain in his life.
