The romantic drama stars’ debutants Aadil Khan and Sadia in lead roles and is set in the backdrop of Kashmir. The movie has received immense love and appreciation from critics and audiences alike for its remarkable plot and cinematography.

Shikara

Shikara is the story of resilience at the times of invincible odds and love that stays even after 30 years of the exodus. The film focuses on the courage and unconquerable strength shown by the Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990 migration with a timeless love story.

Aadil played the role of Shiv while Sadia plays the role of Shanti who played a newly married Kashmiri Hindu couple who dwells in a house named Shikara in Srinagar. The movie is an attempt to highlight the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits, odds faced by them, and their strength and courage while facing them.

Shikara was released on February 7, 2020. Most of the camp scenes have been shot in Bhagwati, Jammu. The music of Shikara has been composed by A.R Rahman and perfectly support the film narration. The story of the film has been written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is also the director of Shikara. The movie has been bankrolled by Vidhu Vinod Chopra under his banner Vinod Chopra Films. The movie has been inspired by the book ‘Our Moon Has Blood Clots’ which is written by Rahul Pandita.
