Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Sushant Singh Rajput who died of alleged suicide on June 14, 2020, has shaken the film industry and since then the Mumbai Police has been interrogating everyone who has been in connection with late actor either personally or professionally. Reportedly, police have recorded statements of about 40 people in connection with Sushant’s death.

The police have already recorded the statements of biggies in Bollywood such as filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra. Police have also interrogated Mahesh Bhatt on Monday and as per the reports, Bhatt has been interrogated for three hours in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX) Abhishek Trimukhe and other senior officials in the police station.

As per Bhatt, he has met Sushant only twice and knew him through Rhea Chakraborty. He further said that Sadak 2 was never offered to the late actor as the lead role was always meant for Sanjay Dutt. However, Sushant had requested him to cast him in any role in the film.

However, the latest addition in the list is going to be producer-director Karan Johar. The news has been confirmed by the police that Karan Johar has been summoned and will record his statement in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He will be questioned by the Police later this week.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar owned Dharma Productions’ CEO Apoorva Mehta has been summoned by the Mumbai Police to record his statement on Tuesday. Earlier, Karan Johar’s manager, Reshma Shetty’s statement has been recorded.

On the basis of actress Kangana Ranaut’s claim that Sushant’s film Drive was released digitally instead of theatrical release because of Karan Johar’s purpose of damaging his career, the police have also demanded the contract agreement copy between Sushant Singh Rajput and Dharma Productions.

Karan Johar & Kangana Ranaut Summoned by Mumbai Police

Reportedly, Kangana Ranaut will also be summoned by the Mumbai Police in the ongoing investigation. At present, the actress is in her hometown Manali and can’t travel so she has requested the police to either send someone to record her statement or else she will send her recorded statement.

Meanwhile, the viscera report of the late actor has ruled out any foul play in the case and the police are now waiting for the stomach wash fluid and nail sample reports.

Sushant was found hanging at his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14. He was 34 years old. His sudden suicide has raised the topic of nepotism and on the request of his family members and others, the police have been investigating what led to his suicide. Apart from clinical depression, can there be any professional rivalry that drove the actor to suicide?
