Ezee Fiber Makes $200M Investment In Texas Expansion

On Monday, Ezee Fiber, an Internet service provider based in Houston, Texas, announced plans to make a $200 million investment to offer high-speed Internet in Texas communities.

Through the investment, the company endeavours to reduce the digital gap by connecting the underserved communities of Southeast Texas by deploying fibre Internet networks.

Informing about the huge investment, Ezee Fiber’s CEO Matt Marino said in a statement, “Ezee Fiber’s significant investment in fibre optic network construction, including a 2,000-mile core network backbone throughout Houston, reflects our commitment to providing best-in-class technology and future-proof infrastructure that revolutionizes the digital landscape for the people in the Houston communities we serve. ”

The investment aims to provide reliable Internet with a 100% fibre optic network, especially in Fort Bend County and nearby areas.

CEO Matt announced, “Our expansion in Fort Bend County will bring reliable, affordable multi-gig symmetrical internet to more neighbourhoods in the area, enabling them to enjoy the fastest, most reliable fibre-based internet available.”

The project aims to provide 140,000 Fort Bend County residents and 1,000 enterprises access to reliable Internet with speeds ranging from 1 Gbps to 8 Gbps at $69 – $119 monthly.

Ezee Fibre said the construction work has already begun to connect 14,000 homes in the county by the end of the current year.

Residents of the County will be provided with construction updates by mail and door hangers to help them plan accordingly. The company also plans to connect 125,000 homes in Fort Bend County through the Internet next year.

According to the information provided by the company, communities including Mission Bend, Sugar, Land, Missouri City, and Pearland will receive high-speed fibre internet by the end of the third quarter of 2024.

Ezee Fire is not the sole internet provider in the SouthEast regions of the State. Other carriers such as i3 broadband and Altice USA’s Optimum have also brought their projects to provide 8 Gbps speed Internet in the region.

The recent $200 million investment by Ezee Fiber in SouthEast Texas will have a positive impact on the State’s telecommunication environment.

By expanding its high-speed fibre optic internet, the company will offer strong competition to other existing and local broadband internet providers to introduce more affordable and reliable internet plans to underserved communities of the State.

The investment will also help in creating more job opportunities and in boosting the economy of Fort Bend County and the neighbouring areas.
