According to the news reported in the New York Post on Sunday, China has assumed that it had destroyed the initial samples of the coronavirus spread in the country. 

Liao Dengfeng, a supervisor of China’s National Health Commission, said the Chinese government issued an order on January 3 to destroy the coronavirus sample in unauthorized laboratories.

He claimed that the samples were destroyed as a precaution keeping safety in mind. He also said that the decision was taken to stop the virus from spreading.
