India-China border dispute

You will remember that in 2017 there was a lot of dispute between India and China regarding Doklam. Which lasted for 70-80 days, then sorted out the conversation.

The matter started when India protested against China’s attempt to build a road in the plateau area of Doklam.

By the way, Doklam is a dispute between China and Bhutan. But Sikkim lies close to the border and has a tri-junction point.

From where China is also closed. Both Bhutan and China stake their claim on this area, and India supports Bhutan’s claim.

Also, this area is strategically important. If China had built a road in Doklam, India feared that it would have increased China’s access to the 20-kilometer-wide link (Chickens Neck) that resembles the hen’s neck, connecting the northeastern states of India.

Later on, it could also be that China could try to seize the northeast part of India by cutting that link.

At the same time, the knowledge of the Indian Army believes that Sikkim, near Doklam, is the place from which India can launch an attack on China’s efforts.

And this is the only place in the Himalayas on the border that the Indian Army understands geographically and can take advantage of its strategic position.

The Indian Army will benefit from height here, while the Chinese Army will be trapped between India and Bhutan.
