The release date of the much-anticipated movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan has been postponed to Christmas 2021. The filmmakers have decided to postpone the release date of the movie in the wake of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Laal Singh Chaddha was earlier slated to release on the eve of Christmas this year, however, because of the current prevailing situation which doesn’t seem to get better sooner due to the rapidly increasing cases day by day and no COVID-19 vaccine so far.
Laal Singh Chaddha Release Date?
The news has been firstly shared by the famous film critic and movie trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “NEW RELEASE DATE…#LaalSinghChaddha – starring #AamirKhan and #KareenaKapoorKhan – will now release on #Christmas2021… Costars #MonaSingh… Directed by Advait Chandan… Produced by #AamirKhan, #KiranRao, and #Viacom18Studios.”
Laal Singh Chaddha is a comedy-drama and is the Hindi remake of the American film titled ‘Forrest Gump’ which was released back in 1994. The original starred Tom Hanks and is to date a favourite amid masses. The movie has been directed by Advait Chandan and bankrolled by Aamir Khan Productions along with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. The script of the film is written by Atul Kulkarni while Pritam has composed the music and Amitabh Bhattacharya has written the lyrics.

Apart from Aamir and Kareena, the movie also features Mona Singh, Manav Vij, and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. The film will mark the third collaboration of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan after ‘3 idiots’ and ‘Talaash’ which were critically acclaimed movies.
The shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha was stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the ease in lockdown, Aamir has resumed shooting for the movie in Turkey, pictures of which are going viral. As of now, there is no confirmation regarding the remaining cast of resuming the shoot for the film. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdown, parts of the film have been shot in Chandigarh and Kolkata.
The initial release date of Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha was coinciding with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’. Aamir has requested Akshay Kumar to shift the release of his movie at that time and Akshay had accepted the same by shifting the release date of ‘Bachchan Pandey’ to 22nd January 2021.
