DeSantis Rips Biden's 'Weakness' At The Border, Says It Didn't Happen Under Trump

DeSantis told reporters that the notion of weakness emerging from the White House prior to Donald Trump’s election in 2016 and after he left office was not present during Trump’s administration.

“My feeling is they haven’t done enough —Europe or Biden’s administration — to really hit Putin where it counts, and that’s because they have been so weak on domestic energy,” DeSantis said of Biden’s energy policies, which he claims stripped the United States of its energy independence achieved during the Trump administration’s final years.

“So let’s get back to where we need to get back to. And I can tell you this. The media spent four years saying that Trump was some type of agent of Russia, and yet, when I was in Congress when Obama was president, Obama refused to send weapons to Ukraine,” DeSantis remarked, before drawing a number of parallels.

He said, “When Trump was president, we sent weapons to Ukraine. Putin didn’t like that very much. When Obama was president, Putin took Crimea. When Trump was president, they didn’t take anything. And now Biden’s president and they’re rolling into Ukraine.”

DeSantis’ take on the Afghanistan issue

He then detailed how the disastrous, tragic departure from Afghanistan, in which 11 Marines, a US Army soldier, and a Navy corpsman were killed by a suicide bomber alongside 150 Afghans, and hundreds of Americans were left behind along with billions of dollars in equipment, sent the incorrect signal to prospective US opponents.

He did not believe that Afghanistan would suffer the most as a result of the pullout. DeSantis said, “it was a total catastrophe, but it displayed the lack of leadership that Joe Biden is bringing to the table.”

“Russia was watching that. China was watching that. Iran was watching that. This whetted the appetite of these dictators,” according to DeSantis, who also predicts that China and Iran will continue to be hostile.

“So the weakness has really bred a lot of the disorder you’re seeing right now,” he added.

DeSantis’ warns about democrats’ plans

Last Monday, DeSantis warned that if Democrats win control of Congress in November, they will likely return to the dark old days of the epidemic.

He said, “The minute those elections are over, they will impose mandates if they feel the need to do that. They will impose restrictions.”

He added, “And so that will happen. If those types of people are allowed to be put in power, my view on that is, they’ve put Fauci in the witness protection program because he will say, you know, no, you should still wear a mask, and he’s never going to say be normal, go back to normal. So they know that, and they know that that’s not what people want.”

He went on to say that by the winter of this year, democratic state governors will reintroduce pandemic limitations as well.

He said, “there’s nothing wrong if on an individual basis you make a certain calculation. That’s fine. We encourage you to do that. But it’s wrong to mandate people and restrict people, and that will happen. I guarantee you, winter of 2022, any of those folks that are there, you are going to see that happen.”

He added, “the only way to make sure it doesn’t happen is to have a nice, big, red wave. So, we’ll see.”

Desantis, in a discussion with Florida Surgeon General Dr Joesph Ladapo and many other medical professionals, made similar remarks. He persuaded on ending the Covid 19restrictions.

He said, “Over the past two years, the data has shown us what works and what doesn’t work. It is long past time to stop the COVID Theater.”

He said, “In Florida, we told the truth, we let the data drive our response, and we let Floridians make decisions for themselves and their children. As a result, Florida is in a better spot than states who used fear-mongering and mandates.”

“In Florida, we won’t let them lock ya down, we won’t let them restrict you, we’re not gonna let them impose mandates, we’re not gonna let them close the schools,” “We are gonna protect your freedom to make your decisions,” he added.

“It’s a free country, so when people are in bad environments – when you have states that don’t know how to fight crime, when you have states that are locking people down, mandating them, doing a lot of stupid things – people look for greener pastures,” he continued.
