Who is MrBeast?

MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson is a 21-year-old guy, who was one of the most-viewed in 2019 courtesy his mind-boggling stunts in which he puts numerous efforts and donates thousands of dollars leaving everyone ridiculed. I know you’re curious, hold your horses for a bit! He started making videos when he was 13 under the username “MrBeast6000”.

For the first few years, he went unnoticed realizing that to make it big, he had to master the YouTube Algorithm by creating content that would draw audiences.

After figuring out the Algorithm, the aspiring YouTuber started publishing content that people would like from funny compilations of him playing games like Minecraft or Call of Duty to estimating YouTubers’ wealth, to giving tips based on YouTube’s Algorithm.

His life took a turn thankfully in 2015/16 courtesy a compilation of the funniest YouTuber’s introductions making fun of them in series called as “Worst Intros”. From there on, he never looked back.

MrBeast first went viral in January 2017, when he uploaded a video showing himself counting to 100,000 which he later revealed took him 44 hours. “I just really wanted it,” MrBeast later said about the challenge. “I had dropped out of college, I wasn’t really making much. I knew it would go viral.”

He gathered that the audience liked such kind of quirky and weird content,so he figured if he made such kind of videos he’d make tons.

What was next to follow, he went on spinning a fidget spinner for 24 hours straight and watched Jake Paul’s music video called ‘Everyday Bro’ for 10 hours. By Nov. 2017, he had reached a million followers.

Today, MrBeast has some kinds of videos on his channel that are his bread and butter. He is still facing tiresome and hours-long stunts — called ‘junklord YouTube’ — and challenges to leave the last person in thousands of dollars. Titles of this video range from the “Last To Remove Hand, Get Lamborghini Challenge” video to “The same drive time” “Thru 1,000 Times.

MrBeast also makes donations and charitable stunts. Once, he opened a car dealership where he pledged to donate free automobiles and was known to spend hundreds of dollars on Twitch and YouTube small streamers and on waitresses and Uber drivers, Pizza delivery boys, etc.

However, as it’s claimed by the Egoist in the present debacle ‘Altruism vs Egoism’, there is not a single Altruistic Act, meaning there is no act which is utterly selfless. If you’re intrigued, find it out in the next section!

You’re probably left wondering how much money outrageous acts like tipping $10000 to waitresses, buying a car by paying in all pennies, etc make. As of this year, his channel has around 40 million subscribers and a humongous 7 billion accumulated overall.

Whenever he uploads a new video, he gets an average of 8 million views per video. He is able to get an average of $40000 per day only through YouTube Advertisements. That makes it to around $ 15 million only through Advertisements from his YouTube channel.

YouTubers are paid $2 – $7 per 1000 monetized views after YouTube takes its cut. Monetized views range from 40% to 80 % of total views.

These are all affected by a variety of variables, such as the screen being played on, the position of the audience, the ad inventory, how many advertisements there are on the video, how many people miss the advertising, the type of advertisement, the quality of content, etc.

The cost of an advertising view is based on an auction between advertisers on the basis of their views. Advertisers must bid a minimum of $0.01 per view.

There’s also a system called Google Preferred, which presents companies with the most influential content that really can target ads at 5%.

The rate of advertisement is higher than the average. Other than advertising, YouTubers also receive a monthly fee for watching YouTube premium content plus watching videos without advertisements from YouTube Red viewers.

You’re paid here based on your videos’ time watching. The longer viewers watch the more money they receive from their posts.

Apart from this, MrBeast makes the majority of what he earns from brand endorsements and deals.  There are several companies that sponsor his videos and give him thousands of dollars.

He has promoted products like CSGO Lotto, Tik Tok, Quidd, etc. Apart from that, he also sells various merchandise through his website. His revenue-making model is quite interesting and it takes a full circle.

Donaldson relies on viral donation campaigns to create viral videos and drive more awareness from brands. His channel is rising steadily, and he is one of today’s leading developers with an estimated net worth of % 18 billion.

In less than two years he has given away more than $1 million and shows no signs of deceleration. He has a specific business model — the only “top philanthropist” on this site — but many people have tried to imitate his method, yet nobody is able to succeed.

His revenue is solely dependent now on the number of donations he makes, the more he donates, the more he attacks viewers and consequently brands, Ad companies and thereby creating this golden pipeline of generating money.

So if you think you have the talent, the brains, and confidence, draw some inspiration and run behind having fun and enjoying, money is bound to follow.
