The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has declared to conduct the final year examinations or Term End Examinations (TEE) June 2020, in the month of September 2020. The Open University issued statement which says that the university will conduct the June TEEs from September first week for the final year and semester students of Bachelor’s, Masters, Post-Graduate Diploma, Diploma, and certificate programs.

The statement further added that the examinations will be conducted according to the recently released Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) which is the higher education regulator has recently released the revised guidelines asking the nationwide universities to conduct the final semester and year examinations by the end of September, however, the exams are to be held only while following the university norms on the registration validity period and admission year.
IGNOU Final Year Exams Release Date
The official notification released by IGNOU states that only those students of Master’s, Bachelors, PG Diptoma/Diploma and Certificate Programmes who have registered for the final year/ semester of their Programme and submitted their form, were eligible to appear in TEE, June 2020 and are to appear in the TEE to be conducted in September 2020.
Apart from this, IGNOU is also going to hold TEE for the intermediate year or semester students in December 2020. The students who will be unable to appear for the examinations in September due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will be able to appear in the examinations scheduled in December 2020.
To ensure this, the Open University has extended the registration period to December 2020 of such students whose registration was going to end in June 2020. Earlier, the IGNOU June TEE was scheduled to be held from June 1 to June 27, however, in view of the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic, the university postponed the exams.
IGNOU Final Year Exams Date & Time Not Announced?
According to reports, the deadline for submitting assignments and exam forms has also been extended by the university from July 15 to July 31. The assignments can be submitted by the students through email or offline at the study centers.
