About Kash Patel
Kash Patel, who goes by the name Kasyap Pramod Patel, is an American attorney. He previously worked for the government.
In President Donald Trump’s absence, Patel served as the acting secretary of defense. Patel also served on the National Security Council.
Kash Patel’s History
As a public defender, he has defended clients accused of serious crimes such as international drug trafficking, murder, firearms violations, and bulk cash smuggling.
In 2014, he became a trial attorney in the United States Department of Justice’s National Security Division, after completing his tenure as a public defender. In addition, he served as a liaison to the Joint Special Operations Command. During this period, he successfully withdrew from a particular mission unit at a secure facility. Accordingly, he received acclamation from the Central Intelligence Agency.
Patel was appointed senior counsel on counterterrorism to the House Select Committee on Intelligence in 2017. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, was also assisted by Patel.
Throughout this period, he was instrumental in the Republican Party’s accreditation in the investigation into Donald Trump and Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Particularly, he investigated the connections between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Due to his qualities and aid to the republicans, he was hired as a staffer for President Trump’s National Security Council. Trump appointed him to several staff positions. He served as the Acting Director of National Intelligence.
He was named senior director of the Counterterrorism Directorate by the United States National Security Council (NSC) in 2019.
