Kevin McCarthy was born on 26th January 1965 in Bakersfield, California. He was born to Robert Darlene and Owen McCarthy. His mother was a homemaker and his father was an assistant city fire chief. He is a fourth-generation resident of Kern County.

His maternal grandfather was an Italian immigrant, and his paternal grandfather was Irish. His parents were members of the Democratic Party, but he is the only one in his family who is from the Republican Party. He got a Bachelor of Science in marketing in 1989 and a Master of Business Administration in 1994 from California State University, Bakersfield. His nationality is American.

For the federal funding of planned parenthood, McCarthy voted to stripe about $500 million.

Hillary Clinton was investigated for many years over the 2012 Benghazi attack by McCarthy and other House Republicans. McCarthy stated in 2015 that nothing was found in the investigation on Clinton’s part and it had hurt poll numbers.
