Mike was born on 7th June 1959 in Columbus, Indiana. The former Indiana governor also served as the Vice President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Pence is a member of the Republican Party and represented the 2nd and 6th district of Indiana in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013.

Early life and education
Michael Richard Pence was born to Ann Jane “Nancy” Cawley and Edward Joseph Pence Jr. His father served in the army in the Korean War, for which he received the Bronze Star in 1953. Pence’s mother was of Irish descent, and his father was of Irish and German descent. Pence is named after his maternal grandfather, Richard Michael Cawley.
Pence was a graduate of Columbus North High School in 1977. Later he went on completing his Bachelor of Arts in history from Hanover College. In 1986, he got his Juris Doctor degree from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis 1986.
During his early adulthood, Pence was a Democrat and volunteered for Bartholomew County Democratic party in 1976. Later, in the 1980’s Presidential elections, he voted for Jimmy Carter.
