Class of 83 starring Bobby Deol in the lead role is the latest film to join the list of movies to get an OTT release. The 51-year-old actor is going to mark his digital debut with this film. The movie is going to be premiered on Netflix and is all set to release on August 21, 2020. The actor is going to play the role of police instructor Vijay Singh

Announcing the premiere of the movie, Bobby took to Twitter and wrote, “It’s not which side you are fighting for, it’s what you are fighting against.” He also informed us that the trailer of the movie will be out tomorrow and premieres on August 21 on Netflix.

Class of 83 has been directed by Atul Sabharwal and bankrolled by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The movie also features Annup Sonii, Bhupendra Jadawat, Ninad Mahajani, Hitesh Bhojraj, Prithvik Pratap, and Sameer Paranjape.
The movie is based on Sayyed Yunus Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘The Class of 83’. The story revolves around a policeman who gets posted as the Dean of the police academy as punishment. He decides to punish the corrupt bureaucracy and its criminal allies in return by training five policemen who lack the feelings of patriotism and morals in them. However, the plan works fine for a short while until the fire that he has ignited threatens to burn down his own house. Whether he succeeds or not is the crux of the plot.
Class of 83 is the first original film which is produced by Shah Rukh Khan to be released on Netflix. Netflix and Red Chillies entertainment has earlier collaborated for the web show Betaal and Bard of Blood.
Apart from the Class of 83, Netflix is going to release 16 more films on the OTT platform including Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Torbaaz, Ludo and A Suitable Boy, and others.
