Philip Brian Scott is an American politician serving as the 82nd Governor of Vermont. He was born on 4th August 1958 and started serving as a Vermont Governor in 2017. Phil Scott is a member of the Republican Party. He is married to Diana McTeague and has 2 children. He is a construction company owner. In 2022, he is the only member of the Republican Party to hold statewide office in Vermont. He is a champion of the stock car race.

Scott was born in Barre, Vermont. He is the son of Marian(Beckley) and Howard Scott. He graduated from Spaulding High School, Barre in 1976. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education from the University of Vermont.
In 2016, he was elected as the governor with 52% votes. In 2018, he won re-election to the second term with more votes. He was elected to a third term in 2020 with 41% votes, which was the largest in the state’s gubernatorial election since 1996 and the largest Republican since 1950. He was previously the 80th Lieutenant Governor of Vermont from 2011 to 2017. Before this, he was a state senator representing the Washington County district from 2001 to 2011.
