The Telugu superhit cop thriller film ‘HIT’ that has been loved by the audience is all set to reach a wider audience. Yes! You heard it right. The movie is all set to be released via a Hindi remake attracting more audience for the movie. The cherry on the cake is that Rajkummar Rao has been finalized to play the lead role in the Hindi remake. The announcement has been made by the makers on Wednesday.

Hindi Remake of Telugu Film  “HIT”

HIT stands for Homicide Intervention Team is a story of a cop who is in the aftermath of a missing woman. Sailesh Kolanu, who is the director of the original Telugu version and got appreciated for the work, will be directing the Hindi remake as well.

When asked about taking Rajkummar Rao on board for the lead role in the film, the director said that the police officer in HIT is a troubled character as he is in a constant battle with his present and past and that’s why he wanted someone who can bring the darkness in the role while compelling the audience to be on the edge with his mature performance.

Kolanu further said that such kind of response can be evoked by Raj as he has been following his work since the time he watched Shaitaan. He added that Raj is a terrific actor who surprises every time with his performances and he is excited to work with Raj and Dil Raju sir on this project.

Excited to join the project, Rao said that when he saw HIT, he instantly got connected with it as it’s an engaging story and fits in as per the current environment. He added that being an actor he wants something different and new every time and this role gives him such a chance. He said that he is excited to work with Sailesh and Dil Raju.

Telugu film Hit

Talking about the Telugu version of HIT, it was produced by actor Nani, featuring Vishwak Sen in the lead role while Ruhani Sharma played the leading lady. The film worked well with the audience and critics as it will give you an immersive experience instead of scaring you. The director believes that he saw that HIT could have the potential to be a successful franchise is not only in Bollywood even global too, however, but there will also be some changes according to the sensibilities of the audience all over India.

Dil Raju is also making the Hindi remake of Nani’s Jersey featuring Shahid Kapoor and will also be producing HIT under Dil Raju Productions banner along with Kuldeep Rathore. The film is currently in the pre-production phase and scheduled to hit the floors in 2021.
