What a poetic episode is was. We got to know that even though the battle in the Underworld has ended, the battle in the real world is still going on. And what a sudden character development Kikuoka had, Don’t get me wrong, it was a welcome change in his character. Seeing him saving everyone and fighting for his subordinates really I got a bit emotional. But, a sad moment was when I realized there were no AsunaXKirito moments in this episode as well. Even though, there was no Underworld action the action in the real-world was awesome.

Rinko is observing the elections in the Ocean Turtle Sub Control room. She gave the news of Alice getting ejected from the Underworld and now only Kirito and Asuna are the only ones remaining to log out. Meanwhile, to no one’s surprise, Asuna told Rinko that she will stay in The Underworld with Kirito. Asuna tells Rinko to protect Alice from the military. Meanwhile, Higa and Kikuoka got to know that Rinko is securing Alice’s light cube so Higa tells her to do anything she can to log them out of the game.
Meanwhile, after getting the gist of their plan, Gabriel sends a raid team to capture Alice. A fight erupts between Gabriel’s team and Higa’s team. Critter seizes the opportunity and plants a bomb in the basement, but luckily Akihiko reaches their at the right time and diffuses it. But all this commotion allows Critter to leave in the submarine.

Episode 17 of the series will release on 12 September 2020. A new episode is released every Saturday if there is no change in the schedule. For the Indian Audience, the episode will be available on Sunday, I.E. 13 September 2020.
It looks like getting Alice out of the Underworld is not enough and they need to get her out of the Ocean Turtle as well. They have logged out Kirito and Asuna out of the Underworld but the game might have affected them in some way and we still don’t know-how. Only one more episode is remaining in the anime, so it will be interesting to see how will it conclude. There are so many possibilities. Sword Art Online will not have another season until Unital Ring is changed. And it will take some time before that, so it will be really interesting to see how will they end the show. If they leave it on a cliffhanger it will be a very long wait for the fans but a satisfactory ending can really raise some questions about the show’s future.
