Tamara Keith and Amy Walter on Biden’s Comments about Putin’s Powers

Tamara said that it was completely a surprising moment when the President commented that Russian President Putin cannot stay in power. She believes that it was definitely not a planned one.

She also mentioned how this statement given by President Biden is completely opposite of the whole speech given by him. As we can see in the beginning, he was mentioning the difficult times faced by the people of America because of the Ukraine war and soon they will be out of this global battle. Biden also mentioned the generational battle between democracies and autocracies.

Amy Walter Comments on the same

Amy Walter mentions how Joe Biden is defending the statement given by him by stating that it is not the statement related to the administration policy.

In the statement given by Joe Biden, Amy says that it will be much easier for the people of America to believe that Putin should go out of his power. Keeping together the people of America has been the biggest challenge for Biden but till now it has been a success for the Biden administration.

But Amy also mentions how it can be more challenging in the near future for Biden as keeping together the people of America for a longer period of time is the biggest challenge.

Conflict with Russia is quite worrisome for the people of America as well as the President himself. It becomes very frustrating to see these things as time passes out, especially when you are the President yourself.

Biden defends himself by saying that he was just expressing moral outrage when he mentioned Putin not being in power

Controversial statements made against the statement given by Biden in his speech are in the news. But Biden seems to defend himself by saying that he was just expressing his moral outrage when he mentioned towards the end about Russian President Putin could not stay in power.

Not only this, but Biden also said that since the statement given by him is not related to any regime policies, this is the reason he is not apologetic for the same.

The Bottom Line

Biden said that the point he was trying to make in the speech was that Putin should not be allowed to exercise his powers over his neighbours or region. He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia. Rather he believes that bad people should not be allowed to continue holding bad things.
