But for the fans, this news is heartbreaking that Netflix announced that it had canceled the upcoming season for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Fans are expecting the season 4 this fall, but there will be no forthcoming seasons and season 4 will mark the finale of the series.
The series is created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and is based on the Archie comics, the series was announced as a sister series to CW’s Riverdale. It seems like Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is having a hard time creating the series related to the Archie comics. And right that moment, the news for the cancellation dropped.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina New Season Cancelled?
The series is followed in a universe with a Half witch named Sabrina, stuck between the conflicts in her coven and how it starts affecting her friends and others in the mortal world. The series has aired for three seasons and also broadcasted for a Christmas special. Now the finale will be aired this fall; however, the date has not been revealed as of yet by Netflix or the team.
The reason why Netflix decided to cancel this show just within two years when it was premiered is not known. But as the sources say, the show was losing its popularity after the first season. The first season gained a lot of positive accolades from the fans and the critics, but later as the plot of the series turned towards the supernatural world, it lost its grip. The series started to lose its hold on the plot, and it wasn’t received well by the audience; however, the fourth season will be a way to tie up all the loose ends that the series might have kept and end with a bang.

Fans always speculated that there would be a crossover between Riverdale’s sister series and The chilling adventures of Sabrina. And all the hopes of this happening are in season 4, but if it doesn’t happen, it will end a high expectation that the fans kept with the show. Netflix is known to cancel shows that exceed a range of 30 episodes, and with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossing a mark of 36 events led to its smaller seasons. No one knows if the characters would later jump in the Riverdale series or the characters’ future in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
But lest hope the series ends by answering most of the fans questions so that at least the end is satisfying.
