Truth Social users will be protected by Nunes from Biden's disinformation czar

According to the man who operates the day to day management of former President Donald Trump’s social network, Truth Social is a prey of the Biden administration’s new Disinformation Governance Board.

Devin Nunes, the congressman who left office to become the CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, presented the government as the most substantial hazard to freedom of speech now that “Big Tech tyrants” can’t silence their voices.

Nunes said that Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board was a “direct attack” on Truth Social

CEO of Trump Media and Technology Group  Devin Nunes criticized the Biden administration for formulating a Disinformation Governance Board on Sunday and promised to Truth Social users that they would get  protection from being cancelled on the platform.

“Our goal and President Trump’s goal was to give the American people their voice back, and that’s what we’ve done… That’s why I think it’s so Orwellian, so dystopian, something you only see in dictatorships, that now they’re going to set up some type of disinformation board. I think that’s a direct attack on what we are doing at Truth Social because we can no longer be cancelled,” former California Republican Rep. Nunes told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo.

About the Disinformation Governance Board

The Disinformation Governance Board, which was disclosed last week, is part of the Homeland Security Department. Nina Jankowicz, who is selected to be its chief, has been condemned by Devis Nunes as “some D-rated TikTok star that is the queen of disinformation herself on the Russia hoax and the laptop from hell.”

She was condemned for her publicity of Christopher Steele’s disproved anti-Trump list and also for rejecting concerns around Hunter Biden and his laptop case. The board has been condemned by the Republicans. It has been compared with the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell’s book 1984.

The White House has characterized the board as being an outcome of a Trump administration effort. Security Secretary of Homeland Alejandro Mayorkas protected its undertakings, claiming the board won’t monitor U.S. citizens while praising Jankowicz as “eminently qualified,” a “renowned expert,” and neutral.”

Devin Nunes’s statement regarding Nina Jankowicz

“We’re going to protect our users from this new phoney government disinformation service, and the fact that they would use some D-rated TikTok star that is the queen of disinformation herself on the Russia hoax and the laptop from hell, to head up is the height of hypocrisy that’s so unbelievable,” he said. “I know they may want to do it and they’re going to use the Department of Homeland Security to do it, but we’re not going to tolerate it,” he said.

Nunes added that he would “love to go appear before the Senate” and talked about censorship on social media if the government tries to eliminate his platform. Truth Social gained popularity by coming to be the top free iOS app last week. The first important post was made by Former President Donald Trump on the platform on Thursday.

Nunes, who claimed the Left is having a “fit” motivated by Elon Musk taking over Twitter, pleaded that the Truth Social won’t accept political speech censorship. “We are not going to be regulated,” he said.

What did Mayorks say regarding Disinformation Governance Board?

“The board does not have any operational authority or capability,” Mayorkas said Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “What it will do is gather together best practices in addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries, from the cartels, and disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing in addressing this threat for years.”
