UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 Result: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the civil services examination 2019 result today on August 4, 2020. The list has been made based on the result of the written test held in September 2019 followed by interviews for personality tests conducted between February- August 2020.

The aspirants can visit the official website of UPSC and check their result by downloading the UPSC provisional appointment list uploaded by the commission on www.upsc.gov.in.

A total of 829 candidates has been recommended for appointment by the commission. Out of 829 candidates, the majority of qualified candidates are from General category 304 followed by 251 candidates from the OBC category, 129 from SC, 78 from EWS, and 67 from ST category. The result of 11 candidates has been kept withheld.

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 Topper

Pradeep Singh has topped the examinations followed by Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma at second and third positions, respectively. Pratibha is the topper among women candidates.

A resident of Haryana, 29-year-old Pradeep is a 2019-batch Indian Revenue Service (customs and central excise) officer and is currently under probation at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN) in Faridabad. He has cleared the exams in the fourth attempt and wants to be an IAS officer to work for the deprived sections of society,

Reportedly, the list released by the commission is in the order of merit to be recommended for appointment in:

(i) Indian Administrative Service (IAS)
(ii) Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
(iii) Indian Police Service (IPS)
(iv) Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’

The official notice issued by UPSC reveals that the commission has also maintained a consolidated reserved list of 182 candidates comprising of 180 candidates selected for IAS, 24 for IFS, 150 for IPS, 438 for Central Services Group A and 135 candidates for group B level services.

Candidates who have not yet checked their result can follow the below-mentioned steps:

  • Go to the official website upsc.gov.in
  • On the homepage, under What’s a new tab, click on the link that mentions Final Result: Civil Services Examination, 2019
  • You will be directed to a new page where you will see a PDF, click on it
  • Press Ctrl+F and look for your name in the list
  • Download the result

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2020 Date

UPSC conducts the Civil Services exam every year to select candidates for Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Other Central Services. The Civil Services exam 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 31, however, it has been rescheduled to October 4 amid the coronavirus crisis.
