What a feel episode it was. Episode 10 of season 5 was really a warm episode that will leave you all warm and fuzzy inside. But only for one scene, otherwise, it had the same problems. This season as a whole is really weird, to be honest. Some bits of the show are really good, but some of them don’t even make sense at all.
The anime is still getting better reviews than the manga counterpart. And one thing that was really problematic was that they took away all the character development of Erina and threw it in the bin. This episode was only saved by the flashback we got of Souma and his mom. The antagonist of this season might be the worst we have ever seen in this show. Now let’s take a look at what happened in the last episode.
Food Wars! Shokugeki No Soma Season 5 Episode 10 Recap
Erina tells Soma and Megumi that God Of Tongue is a blessing to the cooking but it is a curse in the Nakiri family. Because anyone who possesses God of Tongue will become too sensitive to the taste of food and won’t be able to eat. She has her share of doubts regarding this curse and how can she overcome them. Does she think that can Asahi’s Crossed Knives impress God Of Tongue? Soma says that he will beat Asahi no matter what. Soma, Erina, and Asahi won their respective round and advances to the next round.
Soma Vs Asahi: First Semi-final
Soma and Asahi’s match starts. This is where we get the flashback of Soma and his late mother Tamako. That was a really heartwarming flashback. Tamako despite being a bad cook never gave up. Even if her dishes turn out to be bad she always tried her best. Joichiro, Gin, and the Polar Star members are cheering on Soma. The match starts and the theme was to combine “Five Grand Cuisines” French, Chinese, Turkish, Indian, and Italian”, into a single dish. Asahi used his Crossed Knives technique. Everyone thinks that Asahi will win, but Soma figures out that Crossed Knives is just a cheat code. A cheat code that allows him to learn cooking techniques at a rapid pace. And that means Soma can still surpass him and Soma starts to prepare his dish.
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Season 5 Episode 11 Release Date
The 10th episode of the fifth season of Food Wars will release on September 11, 2022. Episode 10 will be titled Surpassing Dads. A new episode is released every Friday if there is no delay in the schedule. In India, it will be available on September 13, 2022.
