The 2022 United States Senate election will be held in Georgia on November 8, 2022, to elect a United States Senator to represent Georgia. 

The race is going to be competitive and would determine party control of the United States Senate.

Backed by former President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, former football player Herschel Walker won the Republican nomination with 68 percent of the vote, while Raphael Warnock, incumbent democratic senator elected in a special election runoff in 2021, is seeking his first full term. 

In the Georgia Senate race, Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock leads Republican contestant Herschel Walker with 52-46 percent. 

Democrats (97-3%) and independents (55-41%) back Warnock, while Republicans (91-6%) support Walker.

Nearly 96% of the voters who back a candidate in the State Senate race said that their minds are made up about how they are going to cast their vote, while 4% say they might alter their minds before the election.

Fifty percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Raphael Warnock, while 44 percent have an unfavorable opinion of him.

Forty percent of voters have a positive opinion of Herschel Walker, while 51 percent have an unfavorable opinion of Walker. 

In a recent poll by YouGov, which was carried out between September 14 to September 19, Warnock garnered the support of 51% of the respondents while Walker achieved 49%, only.

In another poll by Center Street Pac carried out from September 9 to September 12, Warnock can be seen leading with 50% support compared to Walker’s 37%.

Who is ahead in the Georgia Senate race?

US Sen. Raphael Warnock leads Republican candidate Herschel Walker by five points among registered Georgia voters, including those who are undecided but leaning toward the candidate.

However, Warnock’s lead is shrinking among registered voters who said they definitely intended to vote.

Herschel Walker Georgia Senate Polls suggest that Raphael Warnock (47%) leads Herschel Walker (42%) by five percentage points statewide in the US Senate race in Georgia. Warnock (47%) and Walker (45%) were closely tied among registered voters who said they definitely intended to vote.

Warnock’s lead over Walker was supported by Independents (+9 points) and women. There is a gender gap of 23 points. 52% of women support Warnock, while 49% of men support Walker. 

Seventy percent of registered voters favor the US Senate candidate and strongly support their choice. This includes 47% of Warnock’s supporters and 68% of Walker’s supporters.

43% of Georgians have a positive opinion of Warnock, and 40% have a negative impression. Walker’s positive rating (37% favorable and 

41% unfavorable) was reversed.

In congressional opinion polls, Republicans (48%) lead Democrats (44%) by 4 percentage points among registered voters statewide. That lead extended Republicans to a seven-point lead among voters who said they definitely intended to vote.
