That final season is just for marketing to create hype. It is the last season of Alicization Arc of the anime and anime will continue after this too. Part 2 of The War of the Underworld will focus on so many stories at once. It will take place 6 months after the fight between Krito, Euego, and the integrity knight against the pontifex. The pontifex was defeated in the battle.

Meanwhile, The Dark God Vecta has been resurrected and the army of dark forces are going to attack the human empire. The Human Empire retaliate with an army of their own lead by  Bercouli. But the power of the Human Empire is really low as Krito who had lost her hand and soul and also her dear friend in the battle. Alice who is alongside her has lost her will to fight. With these two down the Human Army has dealt with a great loss to their chance of victory.

The first episode basically was a build-up and introduce us to the story and explain to us the situation of the world is in after the first part of Alicization. Asuna is happy to see Sinon and she told her about the condition of Kirito. A fight erupts when Dee Eye Ell between the reunion of Leafa and Lilpilin. Leafa kills Dee Eye Ell. Bercoulli is following Vector and his dragon and kills the dragon.

Episode 2 of the series will release on July 18, 2020. A new episode is released every Saturday if there is no delay in the schedule.

The fight might be a real treat for everyone. We can also see Sinon joining Bercouli as Asuna asked her to find and rescue Alice and she was abducted by Vector.
