T-Mobile Closes Mint & Ultra Mobile Acquisition

T-Mobile Closes Mint & Ultra Mobile Acquisition

T-Mobile US Inc. has completed its acquisition of Ka’ena Corporation, which includes Mint Mobile, Ultra Mobile, and a wholesale wireless solutions provider.

T-Mobile had previously agreed to pay a maximum of $1.35 billion for this acquisition, with a mix of cash (39%) and stock (61%), depending on Ka’ena’s performance before and after the deal.

After the acquisition, Mint Mobile’s founders, David Glickman, and Rizwan Kassim, along with their teams, became part of T-Mobile.

Despite this Acquisition, Mint Mobile and the other brands will continue to operate independently.

To welcome Mint and Ultra customers, T-Mobile is offering them some special perks and new deals as part of Team T-Mobile.

This deal secures Mint and Ultra’s access to T-Mobile’s top-notch 5G network for the future.

It also allows them to utilize T-Mobile’s resources and reach to bring their popular products and simple experiences to more prepaid customers across the U.S.

T-Mobile will also benefit from Mint’s effective direct-to-consumer marketing strategy, which has contributed to its wireless success.

President of Marketing, Strategy, and Products at T-Mobile Mike Katz said, “This combination is a win-win all around—a perfect pairing of highly complementary brands coming together on our industry-best 5G network to continue shaking things up for the benefit of customers.”
