Uzumaki Release Date, Plot, Spoilers, And Other Details: There is sad news for all the horror genre fans as it turns out Junjo Ito’s “Uzumaki” just got delayed due to the COVID outbreak that our world is currently in. Uzumaki might be the most creepy manga that has been adapted into an anime. Fans were excited that they were going to get the anime in 2020. Uzumaki is based on the manga of the same name.

The manga had a decent run from 1998 to 1999. It got it’s the English translation in 2001 and ran for a whole year. Uzumaki was nominated for Eisner Award in 2003 and was listed in “Top 10 Graphic Novels for Teens” in 2009. Junjo Ito is famous for hi creepy artwork that usually scares the life out of the readers. Uzumaki might not be the best horror in terms of story but in terms of artwork, it is regarded as one of the best. Due to the popularity of manga, it was adapted in two video games and a live-action movie directed by Higunchinsky also came out in 2000.

Uzumaki Plot

Uzumaki is a story of two high school students. Kirie Goshima and her Boyfriend Shuichi Saito. The story is based in the village of Kurouzu-Cho and it’s not hard to figure out that the village is cursed by some supernatural events of the past that involved ‘Spirals’.

The spiral affects the people of the village and citizens obsession about Spirals increases. The curse soon begins to spread into the town and soon Kirie is also cursed by the Spirals. Shuichi was unable to save Kirie and had to abandon the town and move to an abandoned terraced house. But things took a turn for worst when the space starts getting crowded.

The things that will happen will change the whole world of Kirie and Shuichi and will they be able to survive and what will happen to Kirie, will she be able to get free from the curse?

Uzumaki Release Date

In 2019, it was announced that Uzumaki will get a mini-anime adaptation in 2020. The release date was not revealed. But on 26 July, 2020 it was announced that the anime will be postponed and will release in 2021. The actual release date is still not revealed, but considering that it is only 4 episode series it can not get anymore delayed and we really hope that it doesn’t.

Staff:-  Anime will be directed by Hiroshi Nagahama(Mushishi). Series is being animated by Drive and Production I.G USA is co-producing the series. Colin Stetson is the music composer.

Uzumaki Preview

A teaser of the anime was released on 26 July, 2020, revealing that the anime will release in 2021.

The ending of the manga definitely got lots of stick as people were not satisfied by the ending as it really came out of nowhere. But no matter what, Uzumaki still remains one of the best horror manga ever and we hope that anime will keep up to that.
