David Mayes Middleton II, going by the name Mayes Middleton is a businessman from America. He is also a politician performing duties for the Texas House of Representatives in District 23. Middleton also serves on the First Liberty National Bank board of directors. The bank is a Community Bank with locations in the Texas cities of Baytown, China, Dayton, Hardin, Huffman, and Liberty.
He is the Chairman of the Texas Freedom Caucus. Middleton was first accepted into the Texas House of Representatives in 2018. He was then re-elected in 2020.
In the 2018 primary election, he successfully challenged two-term incumbent representative Wayne Faircloth, an ally of House Speaker Joe Straus. Middleton defeated Democrat Amanda Jamrock in the November 26, 2018, general election.

Middleton filed to run for the Texas senate for district 11 on November 30, 2021. Middleton later announced his endorsement of Donald Trump in the last weeks of December 2021.
I guess you could say that Donald Trump endorsed Middleton back by saying in a statement about him, “a very effective leader in the Texas House” and said his “voting record on conservative issues is second to none.”
In his closing statement endorsing Middleton, Trump wrote, “I am proud to give my Complete and Total Endorsement to a MAGA (Make America Great Again) champion, Mayes Middleton.”
In a response, Mayes tweeted, “Honored to have received the endorsement of President Donald Trump in my race for Texas Senate! President Trump is continuing his work to elect conservative Republicans across America. I look forward to continuing fighting for our values in the Texas Senate. #TxLege”
Mayes has also been known for disliking Biden and, at times, outright mocking him. He tweeted, “Biden’s A Court order in Texas has halted Biden’s vaccine mandate for health-care workers also in a joking yet serious tone, tweeted, “NBC says parents are too stupid and only government can teach our kids. I thought we beat the Soviet Union.”

He and his wife, Macy Middleton, have four children. The Middleton Family are currently residents in a home located on the east end of Galveston Island.
The Middleton family also owns a home in Wallisville, Texas, built by Middleton’s great-grandparents in 1905. Middleton was a former member of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF). He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Wallisville Heritage Park.
The park is a historical museum in Chambers County, Texas.
