President Biden to visit Los Angeles over the weekend

On December 8, President Joe Biden will visit Los Angeles as a part of his three-day trip, which will include a Hollywood Fundraiser.

This Hollywood fundraiser will be attended by stars such as Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, “Scandal” showrunner Shonda Rhimes, and other well-known celebrities.

Shortly after, the president will attend a campaign reception with first lady Jill Biden in Los Angeles.

Democrats Rosen and U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto led a bipartisan group that urged Biden to allocate up to $3.75 billion in federal infrastructure funds towards a public-private partnership in April.

The group included all of Nevada’s elected federal lawmakers and four House members from California.

Elected officials in Nevada announced on Tuesday that the Biden administration has committed $3 billion to help begin constructing track for a proposed high-speed rail route between Las Vegas and the Los Angeles area.

Before a Friday event in Las Vegas that may overlap with President Joe Biden’s arrival, Wes Edens, the founder and chairman of Brightline, a Florida-based company, declared in a statement, “We’re ready to get to work.”

According to planners, trains traveling at nearly 200 mph may reduce the time it takes to travel four hours on a freeway trip from a station in Las Vegas through Victorville, California, to a suburban Los Angeles light rail line in the San Bernardino County city of Rancho Cucamonga.
