The 20-year old student Sudiksha Bhati of Uttar Pradesh died in Bulandshahr, UP, on Monday morning in a bike accident. The accident happened while avoiding molestation in Bulandshahr, as alleged by the family.
She was riding on a scooty with her uncle Manoj Bhati and was en-route to her maternal uncle’s home in Sikandrabad in Bulandshahr. Two men chased her on a Royal Enfield motorcycle and suddenly stopped after coming in front of her two-wheeler due to which it rammed into the bullet from behind.

Sudiksha died on the spot while her uncle was majorly injured. However, the police are rejecting it to be a case of harassment claiming that nothing was mentioned about harassment at the time of the incident.

Sudiksha was the daughter of Jitendra Bhati and hailed from Deri Scanar village in Gautam Buddh Nagar's Dadri tehsil. She was the eldest among the six siblings. She had an envious academic record. She topped in her CBSE class 12th examination in 2018 with 98% marks.
After getting such marks she applied to a top college in the USA for further studies. Her application was accepted and she qualified for a Rs 3.8-crore scholarship from Babson College, Massachusetts (US).
Sudiksha was pursuing a graduation course in entrepreneurship and had moved to America in August 2018 for the same. She has recently returned to her hometown in June amid coronavirus lockdown and was scheduled to return back to the US on August 20.
She had applied for a summer academic programme at the Lacocca Institute in Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in July 2016 and got selected with 76 students from India. The experience led her to decide to go to the US for further studies.
She started preparing for the SAT exam in April 2017 and secured scholarships in different colleges of the US. After winning the scholarship, she had thanked her school for helping in preparation, funding the tests while exempting form regular classes of class 12th.

As per her father, because of the reason that she faced hardships for her studies, she knew that getting education id really hard for the village children. She used to tell her father that there are organizations in the US who work on such issues and she will later start her own organization to help children in villages to access education.
Sudiksha’s father had an unstable income for the last several years as he used to be a driver or do some odd jobs here and there. He had also opened a dhabha which got shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As she was aware of the situation, she used to tell her parents that now they will see their happy days very soon. However, all her and her parents’ dreams and plans were shattered because of her untimely death. The family is now seeking justice for their daughter by getting the culprits arrested and punished.
