Things to know about Airvoice Wireless before you subscribe

Since its inception in 1999, Airvoice Wireless has focused on serving customers on the west coast with its cellular network. The firm operates as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) on the AT&T network, using GSM technology, and has served consumers in over 40 states and territories, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

It has a pay-as-you-go option, unlimited international SMS, and calls to 80+ countries.

Airvoice Wireless also provides government-issued phones to those who qualify, which include unlimited talk and text, data plans, and international calling. The AirTalk Wireless brand, under Airvoice Wireless, also provides Lifeline and ACP services.

What is Airvoice Wireless Lifeline

The Lifeline program is a Federal Assistance initiative that provides qualified customers free cell phone service. Candidates must be eligible for either Medicaid/Medi-Cal, SNAP/CalFresh, Supplemental Security Income, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or WIC to avail of this benefit.

Broadband internet access has also been added to the program’s recent revamp alongside cellular support, allowing people to acquire cheap or free internet access.

How to apply for Airvoice Wireless Free Government Phone

The application process is straightforward to receive a free government phone from Airvoice Wireless.

All you have to do is follow these simple steps –

  • The first step is to apply for the phone with AirTalk Wireless by visiting their website.
  • You will be asked to enter your name, address, and SSN. You’ll also need to present some paperwork to make sure everything goes smoothly with your application.
  • Ensure you have the necessary documents, such as a valid photo ID, evidence of citizenship or residency, and documentation of your participation in government-issued benefits programs. If you don’t want to apply on your own, see if there is a local Lifeline provider you can apply through.

  • The provider will submit your information to the NLAD (National Lifeline Accountability Database) once qualified through the National Verifier, and you will receive your phone after approval.

You can buy a plan through Airvoice or one of their authorized dealers, and you can also find it for sale on marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Callingmart, and independent vendors.

How to port out of Airvoice

For some ports, you’ll need to provide a four-digit PIN, and unless you have changed it, your PIN will be the last four digits of your phone number.

To complete the switch from Airvoice, you’ll need your SIM card number, and the number on your Airvoice SIM card must match the number in your account. If your account is not currently active, you will not be able to port out.

Phone Unlock Policy

A device can be started by dialing 877-247-7799. After receiving your device unlock request, Airvoice will either unlock the device or submit a request to the OEM to unlock the device within two business days.

Since Airvoice does not sell phones, you don’t have to remain a customer for a set period to have your phone unlocked.
