Former President Donald Trump has won the Michigan Republican primary election.

The United States former President Donald Trump has won the Republican primary election in Michigan.

The 2024 Michigan Republican presidential primary was held on February 27, 2024, for the 2024 presidential election.

In the counted votes, Trump leads by 68% votes against former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and his last remaining primary rival, Nikki Haley, who has received 28% votes in Michigan.

Trump told the Michigan GOP watch party in Grand Rapids, “The numbers are far greater than we even anticipated. Thank you very much, and we’ll be doing a lot of campaigning over the next couple of months.”

Trump has won all 2024 Republican primary elections in five states, which constitute Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and South Carolina.

Trump defeated Haley in her home state, South Carolina, on February 24, 2024. Haley has not won any Republican primaries or caucuses in the 2024 race.

However, she has vowed to stay in the race until Super Tuesday, which is scheduled for March 05, 2024.

Trump’s win in Michigan is another important achievement in the 2024 race. The continued victories helped his presidential campaign to get closer to the Republican nomination for president.

Several polls have indicated high approval ratings for the former president despite facing multiple indictments.

He currently faces four criminal indictments, including a Hush Money payment, a classified document case, and an attempt to change the 2020 presidential election case to overturn his defeat to President Joe Biden.

Trump is expected to face trial in New York court next month in his hush money payment case.

The trials related to retention of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2020 are scheduled to take place in federal court in Florida in May. He has pleaded not guilty to all of his criminal charges.

Being a front-runner, Trump is expected to reach the general election easily.

Regarding the general election, Trump said, “We have a very simple task; we have to win on November 05. We win Michigan, we win the whole thing.”

Meanwhile, President Biden has also won the Michigan Democratic primary election. Michigan is a key swing state, and it is hoping to see Trump and Biden face off in November.

Trump won the state in 2016 but lost it against Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

If Trump wins the general and 2024 presidential elections, he could use his power to pardon himself as a U.S. President.
