Donald Trump To Appear in Fox News Town Hall with Host Sean Hannity

United States former President Donald Trump will visit Iowa to join Fox News anchor Sean Hannity for a televised town hall event in Cedar Rapids on July 18.

According to the Press release, the anchor will discuss the 2024 Presidential race, immigration, the economy, and the country’s overall state with Trump and will take questions from the audience.

The network announced on Tuesday that the Town Hall will be streamed on Fox News from 9 pm-10 pm ET and will be pre-taped earlier in the day at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Arena.

Trump’s joining Hannity next week marks the second time the former President has joined the host in Iowa in the 2024 campaign. He first appeared while making smaller campaign stops across the Des Moines metro in the state.

Furthermore, it is Trump’s fourth visit to the state since he declared his run for the White House in 2024. He came to Council Bluffs last week and delivered a speech on agriculture while targeting his major opponent Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and other 2024 rivals.

Trump has been featured in many interviews with Fox News hosts, including Hannity and Bret Baier earlier. While he preferred to join Hannity again, the former President will not attend Friday’s prominent FAMiLY Leadership Summit 2023 in Des Moines.

His opponents, DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence, and state Governor Kim Reynolds are appearing in the event.

Trump’s trip to Iowa is significant as the former President seems to evaluate his relationships and support in the first caucus state amid tensions between the former President and some Republicans in the state.

Earlier this week, Trump criticized Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, anticipating her support for DeSantis and staying neutral in the caucuses while claiming his support for her victory in 2018.

In the Truth Social post, Trump said,” I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, and when she fell behind, I endorsed her, did big Rallies, and she won. Now, she wants to remain ‘Neutral.’ I don’t invite her to events. DeSanctus down 45 points.”

Reynolds has been seen with DeSantis in his campaign and recently appeared at a campaigning event alongside DeSantis’s wife, Casey DeSantis.

Many reports state that Trump has been disheartened at her relationship with DeSantis. Meanwhile, some Iowa Republicans, including veteran strategist David Kochel have expressed frustration with the former President.

Still, Trump has successfully maintained a lead in the upcoming Republican Primary. Many polls have shown the former President a commanding lead in the GOP primary field. This also includes one survey of Iowa voters in May showing him a 42-point lead in the state.
