Truth Social Launch Date Slides A Month Down The Calendar
Despite his passionate desire to present the site as a competitor to existing Big Tech platforms, former President Donald Trump’s social network has been delayed.
TRUTH Social is still under beta testing, according to Trump Media and Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes, and will be released by the end of March. That would put the app’s release a month after its first announcement, which stated that it will be available on the iOS app store on February 21.

The company’s hesitation to resort to established tech businesses for the infrastructure needed to develop the website could be part of the reason for the delay.
During a Thursday appearance on Newsmax, Nunes remarked, “It’s very difficult.” “We are unable to work with any of the Big Tech firms. We’ve seen what’s occurred to other small businesses in the past. And if Amazon does not like them, they will be taken off.”
Hive, the latest addition to the TS coalition
The firm announced two weeks ago that it will conduct content filtering using algorithms developed by Silicon Valley startup Hive. Other famous tech firms that employ Hive include Giphy, Parler, and Walmart.
TRUTH Social’s relationship with YouTube alternative video site Rumble, according to the former California congressman, will “continue to identify people who will not cancel us, who want to see the internet open again for everyone.”
Truth Social an eminent weapon in Trump’s Big Tech war
As he worked to beef up his to-be-released social platform, the former president chastised his would-be tech opponents, mocking recent reports about Facebook’s dropping member numbers.
“This means people are tired of Fake News and abuse, and especially tired of their political shenanigans,” Trump said in a statement released on Friday, adding that the drop could indicate that “people are waiting for TRUTH — the highly sophisticated platform that we look forward to opening in the not-too-distant future.”
Trump opens arms to Freedom Convoy protesters
On Friday, Trump said that truckers in the “Freedom Convoy” are invited to join his social media network, where they may “speak freely.” This comes after Facebook blocked a group of truckers from travelling from California to Washington, D.C. in protest of vaccine regulations on Wednesday.
Truth Social raised $1bn from institutional investors
After promoting TRUTH Social in October as an alternative to Big Tech giants like Facebook and Twitter, TMTG raised more than $1 billion in funding in December 2021. In exchange for allegedly reserving usernames on the platform, the social media platform has allegedly been utilized to assist the National Republican Senate Committee in raising political cash. In addition, the company is courting a number of influencers to join and promote the platform.
