FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GREAT BEAR TEAM WILL PROVIDE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE WITH A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO REVEGETATION |
HAMILTON, MT, January 9, 2009 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- The Great Bear Team, with Great Bear Restoration (GBR) of Hamilton, Mont. as its prime contractor, was recently awarded an Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) Revegetation Services contract by the National Park Service (Contract No. 1443C2000081800).
This IDIQ contract award allows government employees from any agency within the U.S. Department of the Interior, along with the U.S. Forest Service and Central Federal Lands Highway Division to request competitive proposals for revegetation services directly from the Great Bear Team and any of the three other contract awardees. GBR has drawn together an exceptional team of 11 subcontractors offering broad expertise in all areas of revegetation services addressing road and highway improvements, associated facilities (e.g., parking and picnic areas), landscape design, burned area rehabilitation, critical area stabilization and erosion control, woodland improvement and reforestation, wetland and riparian restoration, and comprehensive invasive species management. Specific assistance available through this contract includes revegetation planning and technical assistance, seed collection, plant propagation, plant provision, holding site preparation, exotics control, plant salvage and direct transplant, installation, protection, and maintenance. Spread across all geographic regions of the western U.S., Great Bear Team members have the knowledge, skills and facilities to ensure success with any NPS revegetation project of any scale. Contracting with the Great Bear Team will save contracting time on projects over $2,500, reduce housing and personnel management challenges, reduce liability for plant loss, and ensure proper attention is paid to genetic conservation and invasive species control.
