Donald Trump delivers “real State of the Union” speech

Former President Donald Trump released a video in response to Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address late Tuesday night.

Trump, in the video that he named the “real State of the Union”, heavily criticised the Biden administration and talked about several issues including inflation, the border crisis, and high gas prices among others.

The former president, in the video, also accused Joe Biden and the “the radical Democrats” of failing miserably on the immigration crisis and rising crime rates and slammed the President’s handling of transgender issues along with the involvement of the US in the Russo-Ukraine conflict.

“Over the past two years, under Biden, millions and millions of illegal aliens from 160 different countries have stormed across our southern border. Drug cartels are now raking in billions of dollars from smuggling poison to kill our people and to kill our children. Savage killers, rapists and violent criminals are being released from jail to continue their crime wave. And under Biden, the murder rate has reached the highest in the history of our country,” said the former president.

Targeting the Biden administration’s handling of transgender issues, the former president in his “real State of the Union” speech said, “They’re trying to indoctrinate and mutilate our children,” referring to gender-affirming care provisions.

Trump equates gender-affirming procedures as “child abuse” and “child sexual mutilation,” and in a separate video released last month, the former president said that if elected president again, he would punish doctors who perform gender-affirming procedures on minors.

The former president also vowed to prohibit any federal agency from promoting the concept of gender transition regardless of age. However, several major medical organisations like the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association have stood firm in support of providing gender-affirming care.

Later in the video, the former president called Biden “the most corrupt president in American history” and vowed to reverse all the damage caused by him when he’s re-elected President in 2024.

“I am running for president to end the destruction of our country and to complete the unfinished business of making America great again. We will make our country better than ever before, and we will always put America first,” he added.

During the live broadcast of President Biden delivering his State of the Union address, Trump was delivering live commentary on his speech; making comments like “too much use of the word ‘folks’” and slamming the Fake news media of crediting Biden with “one of the Great Speeches of all time,” even though he apparently struggled with “getting the words out.”
