WHAT’S IN YOUR MILK? An Expos of Industry and Government Cover-Up on the DAN

A world-renowned author and professor emeritus of environmental medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, Samuel S. Epstein has published a powerful book called “What’s in Your Milk?“, exposing the risks of Monsanto genetically engineered (rBGH) milk, as well as its no-holds-barred conspiracy to suppress it.

Genetically modified rBGH (recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone) is a potent version of cows’ natural growth hormone, POSILAC. Approximately a third of dairy cows are in herds with the hormone, according to Monsanto, which is manufactured by the company. When this hormone is injected into cows, it causes them to produce approximately 10% more milk.

Despite convincing the FDA that rBGH milk is safe for consumers, Monsanto asserts it is indistinguishable from natural milk.

  • According to the Posilac label, rBGH causes mastitis in cows. Monsanto has been forced to admit that it has about 20 toxic effects on cows.

  • A common side effect of rBGH is the induction of mastitis, which is often treated with antibiotics. This leaves rBGH milk contaminated with pus.

  • There are chemical and nutritional differences between natural milk and rBGH milk.

  • The traces of rBGH absorbed into the blood from cows injected with the hormone can be found in milk from those cows.

  • As a result of rBGH milk’s high amounts of natural growth factors (IGF-1), the milk is readily absorbed.

  • Cancers of the breast, colon, and prostate have been linked to high levels of IGF-1.

  • There is a major threat to small dairy farms due to rBGH factory farms. IGF-1 blocks natural defense mechanisms against early submicroscopic cancers. Monsanto profits from rBGH at the expense of consumers, especially given the current national milk surplus.

Moreover, excess levels of IGF-1 in rBGH milk pose significant risks of breast, prostate, and colon cancer, based on 37 published scientific studies described in the book.

What’s in Your Milk? features a foreword by Jeffrey M. Smith, author of Seeds of Deception, and is authored by Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.

Among the prominent environmental experts who have endorsed the new book are Congressman John Conyers, Jr., Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Mark Achbar, Executive Producer of the multiple prize-winning documentary The Corporation, Ronnie Cummins, National Director of Organic Consumers Association, and Dr. The most visited natural health website in the world is founded by Joseph Mercola.

It’s a great way to learn about rBGH milk. Since 1989, Dr. Epstein has published pioneering scientific articles that have influenced other nations like Canada, 24 European nations, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan to ban rBGH milk. Aside from editorials and letters, the book includes correspondence with the FDA, Congressman John Conyers, and other senators and congressmen. In Epstein’s book, he reveals that Monsanto and the White House, the American Medical Association, and the American Cancer Society all had interconnected conflicts of interest. The Hit Squad also tried to stifle him and discredit him, as well as evidence of Monsanto’s white collar crime, suppression of and manipulation of information about rBGH milk’s dangers to animals and the public.

In particular, it is fascinating to learn why Fox Television fired Jane Akre, a veteran journalist, after she interviewed Dr. Epstein in depth on rBGH. Monsanto then deposed Epstein on her behalf, she sued Fox, and Fox’s countersuit was won.

There is more than enough evidence to reject any assurances of rBGH milk’s safety given Monsanto’s corporate recklessness, compounded by FDA complicity and refusal to require labeling. This information is also critical to the ongoing debate and concerns surrounding genetically engineered foods, including irrefutable evidence discrediting Monsanto’s and other industries’ assurances of safety.

In addition to resource materials, the book also lists rBGH-free U.S. dairy producers, such as Horizon Organic and Swiss Valley Farms, as well as anti-biotech, public health, veterinary and animal rights activist groups.

BOYCOTT rBGH hormons in favor of certified organic milk, What’s in Your Milk’s essential message to consumers.

It won the Pulitzer Prize in 1978, and it was called The Politics of Cancer. He wrote 12 books, including Cancer-Gate: How to Win the Losing Cancer War in 1995 and The Safe Shopper’s Bible in 2005.

The Right Livelihood Award, the Alternative Nobel Prize, and many other awards have gone to Dr. Epstein for his unmatched contributions to cancer prevention and for his leadership in letting people know about rBGH milk’s dangers. The Albert Schweitzer Golden Grand Medal for Humanitarianism and International Contributions to Cancer Prevention was awarded to Dr. Epstein in 2005. In addition to receiving the 2000 Project Censored Award, Dr. Epstein won the 2005 Albert Schweitzer Award.
